Now you can use mountaineering boots for climbing, and add AlpControl just before skiing downhill.
AlpControl is a patented device that works like a carbon fiber plate spring,
to give a "flex" comparable with that of a good ski boot.
We invite you to visit our site in French and have a look to the photos of the prototypes and the
videos of two tests, one on hard snow, another in powder.
The advantages of AlpControl for ski-touring and alpinism are :
- lighter shoes of up to 1 kg at each foot, and at each step,
- most of all, the flexibility of the ankles allows you to benefit from the muscles of the calves,
- no sweat in GoreTex shoes, means no water blister anymore,
- the whole with a perfect control of skis downhill.

"Expedition" version for hight altitude :
For extreme use over 5000 m, we make " customized " versions of AlpControl adaptable
to non-standard mountaineering boots (Millet Everest and Shivling, La Sportiva Olympus...).
The weight is approximately 450 grams per foot, it depends on the size of the boot.
The deadline for manufacturing is 1 month after ordering.
The price is 480 € per pair.
AlpControl can also be hired for the duration of the expedition.
"Carbon/Titanium" version :
This first series, produced to 500 units, contains many titanium parts (loops, axes) not to exceed 360 grams per foot.
It is compatible with most popular mountaineering boots used below 5000 m (16 000 ft) and sizing from 41 to 46 (US 8.0 to 11.5).
It will be available for late February 2008.
The price is 330 € per pair.
